Situated approximately 75 kilometres from Almeria, Los Gallardos is a rural town that still is in proximity to the larger municipalities.

Los Gallardos reprasents one of the gateways to the Levante of Almeria. Many archaeological sites bear out it's past as an early Roman settlement on the banks of the river.
